House Rules
1. Out of respect for our fallen comrades, no head dress is to be worn in the Club Rooms at any time, unless engaging in theatrical performances or for religious or medical reasons. The Sgt at Arms while on duty is exempt from this rule.
2. Profanity is prohibited in the Branch at all times.
3. Club Room privileges shall extend to all Branch Members, guests and visitors who hold a current membership card excepting those who have been suspended and are still under suspension or who are delinquent or resigned from the Legion. Membership cards must be produced upon request of the Bar Stewards or a member of the Executive Committee.
4. No person may be signed into the Club Room unless accompanied by the signing Member. Members shall be responsible for any guest they sign in and such guest shall vacate the premises when the signing member leaves. Out of town guests are exempted from this rule.
5. Notwithstanding House Rule #2, when there is a special function or entertainment in the Club Rooms and a fee is charged at the door, a non member on payment of the appropriate fee may sign in as a guest. The guest is then subject to the by-laws and House Rules of the Branch.
6. Animals shall not be permitted inside the Branch premises except service animals.
7. Members and guests will return their empties to the bar.
8. The area behind the bar is out of bounds to all members except for the Executive Committee and volunteers in the course of their duties.
9. Gambling will not be permitted in the Club Rooms. The loser of any sanctioned games (pool, darts etc) may purchase a drink for his/her opponent and this will not be considered gambling.
10. Games must not be started (15) minutes prior to bar closing
11. All beverages must be consumed within (30) minutes of the bar closing and all patrons must vacate the premises within this (30) minutes.
12. Intoxicated person(s) will not be served at the bar and will be requested to leave the premises. A cab will be offered and the cab fare is at the intoxicated person(s) own expense. Any person(s) who has been cut off by the Bar Steward and told to leave the premises shall do so immediately. Failure to leave the premises under these circumstances will result in charges laid against that/those person(s).
13. No person(s) shall attempt to purchase anything from the bar for the intoxicated person’s consumption. Any person(s) who have been cut off by the Bar Steward will also be denied service and asked to leave the premises. Failure to leave the premises under these circumstances will result in charges being laid against that/those person(s).
14. All persons on the premises will answer telephone calls for them.
15. All members, guests and visitors must stand for the playing of “God Save The King” or “O Canada” anthems, unless medically unable to stand. Any member who does not will have charges laid against them. If the person who does not stand is a guest, the member who signed the guest in will be charged.
16. Where a person has been charged for any type of misconduct and it is found that another member has been instigating said misconduct, the instigator will also be charged.
17. Guests may play any indoor Branch sports subject to availability for Branch Members with the exception of the pool tables which are reserved for members and their guests unless approved by the Bar Steward.
18. Persons playing Branch Sports are responsible for any damage to or loss of Branch equipment used in the sport.
19. All materials posted to the bulletin boards must be approved and initialed by an Executive Committee Member or the Branch Manager.
20. The ship’s bell over the fire place shall not be rung by anyone at anytime. The penalty for ringing the ship’s bell shall be to purchase a drink for all persons in the Branch at that time. Failure to purchase the drinks will result in a forty-eight hour suspension.
21. Televisions are for the benefit of members of the Branch. The volume setting and the channel selections shall be done by the Bar Steward at the request of the member.
22. Minors must be signed into the Branch as guests by a member who the parent or guardian of the minor. Minors under the age of 16 are restricted to the Red Caboose lounge area. Minors will observe a 6:00PM curfew unless otherwise extended by the Bar Steward. Minors may not make purchases at the bar. Parents or guardians shall not leave minors unattended.
23. Parking is restricted to members, guest and visitors who are in attendance at the Branch. All other vehicles are subject to a ticket and/or towing at the owners expense. Exceptions may be made by the Bar Steward and the owner will be given a parking pass to display in their window.
24. Infractions of the above House Rules by a member, guest or visitor will result in an automatic suspension of (48) forty-eight hours upon approval by an Officer of the Branch, Branch Manager or Bar Steward and possible further action at the direction of the Executive Committee.
25. Branch is not responsible for any damage of loss to vehicles on Branch Property
26. Branch does not assume any responsibility for personal or unattended items.
